# Vocayoga Description

Vocayoga is a Glasgow-based wellness practice that uniquely blends yoga and vocal training to help people overcome anxiety around singing and speaking. Founded by Vivienne Farris, a qualified yoga teacher and vocal coach, the business addresses a common barrier: many people want to sing but are held back by past criticism, nervousness or self-doubt.

The practice serves aspiring singers, returning singers, yoga practitioners, and those seeking holistic wellness through sound and movement. Classes integrate breathing techniques, yoga postures focused on energy meridians, sound healing via crystal singing pyramids, chakra meditations and yoga nidra. Vivienne has also trained in EFT Tapping to help clients overcome emotional blocks around voice expression.

What sets Vocayoga apart is its trauma-informed approach. Recognising that voice-based classes can feel intimidating, Vivienne offers private vocal lessons first to build confidence, then welcomes students into group sessions. She personally understands performance anxiety, having overcome severe stage fright as a singer. This lived experience informs her speciality: helping people give themselves permission to use their voice.

Classes are held monthly at the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Bellahouston, with outdoor summer sessions in the Scottish Poetry Rose Garden. Beyond group classes, Vivienne provides individual Vocayoga sessions, pregnancy and postnatal yoga, and vocal lessons. The business creates a genuinely supportive environment where voice exploration becomes inseparable from physical and emotional healing.
