Based at Westminster Quaker Meeting House on St Martin's Lane, the studio provides intensive five-day programmes where students work through the Ashtanga series at their own pace with expert instruction and hands-on adjustments.
Led by Philippa Asher, who holds Sharath Jois certification to teach all four series—Primary, Intermediate, Advanced A and Advanced B—the business caters to intermediate and advanced practitioners seeking to deepen their practice. The focus extends beyond physical postures to encompass tristhana (breath, bandhas and gaze), precise vinyasa, alignment principles and mental stillness.
What sets Ashtanga Nirvrta apart is its deliberately small group structure, limiting sessions to 6–8 practitioners with staggered arrival times (7am, 8.30am, 10am) allowing personalised attention.
