# Krishna Yoga – Surbiton
Krishna Yoga is a specialist yoga studio located in Surbiton, Kingston Upon Thames, founded and led by Asha, an experienced yoga instructor with over 28 years of teaching experience. The studio serves both beginners and intermediate practitioners seeking a personalised, supportive approach to yoga practice.
What sets Krishna Yoga apart is its commitment to small class sizes—capped at just 7 students of the same level—ensuring every student receives expert individualised attention and proper alignment corrections. This intimate setting creates a genuine community rather than an impersonal studio experience.
The studio offers a thoughtfully curated range of classes tailored to different needs and goals. Dynamic Vinyasa classes build strength and flexibility through flowing sequences, whilst Restorative Yoga provides therapeutic support for stress relief, joint problems and sleep issues. The popular Wheel Yoga programme uses props to safely deepen stretches and enhance chest and shoulder opening. Slow Flow and Energetic Vinyasa options cater to those seeking breath-synchronised movement or Sunday morning energy work.
All classes run for 75 minutes, incorporating asana, pranayama (breathwork) and meditation—honouring the complete yogic tradition rather than treating yoga as purely physical exercise. Asha's training spans Sivananda, Iyengar, Ashtanga and the British Wheel of Yoga, creating a distinctive, balanced teaching style.
The studio also runs a 200-hour Yoga Alliance accredited teacher training course since 2013, attracting students interested in deepening their practice or becoming qualified instructors.
